*Cost after Feb 12, 2010: $259. A deposit of $50 is required to hold your place and full payment due by Feb 12, 2010 in order to receive the discount. An additional $20 materials fee for the herbs and wrappers will be collected on the first day of class, so that each participant may take home herbs and materials for use after the workshop.

This thirteen hour workshop introduces you with luk pra kob, an important element of Thai healing traditions. Thai herbs and roots are freshly mixed, wrapped into compresses, steamed, and applied to the body in order to relieve stress and bring about a calm state of mind. This is an ancient tradition in Thailand, and one that has many applications in the modern world. The effects of a Thai herbal session can be truly amazing - aches and pains seem to fade away, and you feel relaxed yet energized. This workshop is open to massage therapists, body workers, spa therapists, alternative healers, blank herbs
couples, singles and friends. No previous experience in herbalism or massage therapy is required.

thai herbs blank The course presents a basic understanding and working knowledge of the preparation and application of Thai herbal compresses through discussion, mixing and preparing herbs, and topical application. Coordinated Thai massage techniques will also be taught, and ample time will be allowed to practice with several partners during the workshop.

Participants will learn to apply the compresses along major sen lines (energy pathways) and other stress-bearing areas of the body. You will practice Thai massage techniques specifically designed for compress application on all areas of the body, and you will gain a basic knowledge of luk pra kob therapy in order to further your study and practice and adapt it to your practice.

Steamers and course booklets are included in the registration fee. A $20 materials fee for the herbs and wrappers will be collected on the first day of class, and each participant will take home herbs and materials for use after the workshop. Registration is open to both individuals and couples. This course is approved by the Thai Healing Alliance International (THAI) and the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB) for CEs or continuing education credit. blank thai herbs

About the Instructor
Bob Haddad, RTT is a Thai therapist who has trained in Thailand since 2000. He holds certificates from several leading Thai institutions, and has studied with master teachers Asokananda, Pichest Boonthumme, Lek Chaiya and others. He travels internationally to teach workshops, and is a Council member of the Thai Healing Alliance.
